Welcome to the Meadows of Ashe- 91+ acres of rolling mountain land, springs, pond, & rustic 2+BR/2BA cabin overlooking layered long range mountain views. Currently utilized as a Christmas Tree farm, this land has abundant wildlife (tree stands to hunt!) & an expansive road system throughout the property. At the higher elevations (appx 3500ft), the tract gives way/borders a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway that features the Mountain to Sea Trail. Gazing over the property, a perfect 'rocking chair porch' wraps around most of the cozy cabin (cabin has 2BR septic permit but abundant room to expand system & functions as having 5+ BR). The large windows allow abundant natural light to pour into the open living/dining/kitchen area w/vaulted ceilings. A stone, wood burning fireplace, exposed knotty pine, & hardwood floors create a warm mountain feel with "hunter's lodge" undertones. The Master is on the main level, featuring a private bath & sliding glass doors to the deck, looking out to the rolling hills of the acreage. Bonus rooms give potential for offices, studios or extra living areas. The loft partially looks over the living area, & features another "BR & BA".

The Northwest Railroad, otherwise known as the Virginia Creeper made its last run to the town in 1977, and as a result, the town experienced a brief downturn.

In the early 1990s, business leaders banded together, determined to save the town. Community leaders and volunteers worked hard to develop a rich art scene to help promote West Jefferson as a tourist destination, making it quite the travel destination today.
